Pre delivery inspection

Day 1 of a photocopier’s life….

Once unboxed a new machine needs to be built to a customer’s specific needs. For example, document feeder fitted, certain paper trays added, a finishing device configured.

This process at a photocopier company is called the PDI, pre delivery inspection.

Another major part of this job is to set the machine up with any manufacturer’s updates, firmware and technical factory updates that sometimes occur.

A photocopier dealer may also want to add customers network details and scan addresses into the machine’s memory. Doing this prior to the installation date, to speed up the install at the customers site and cause less down time.

This PDI process is key to the reliability of the machine from day 1.
